The purpose of this study was to determine the Planning for Strengthening Character Education based on School Culture in MIN 2 Padang City. This type of research is a field research (field research) descriptive method and qualitative approach. Sources of data in this study were the principal, educators and students and supporting documents. The data collection techniques that researchers use are observation, interviews and documentation with data analysis techniques adopting the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. This study succeeded in finding: Planning for Strengthening School-Based Character Education in MIN 2 Padang City was carried out by: 1) Forming a Development Team for Strengthening School-Based Character Education (PPK-BS) led by the head of the madrasa directly, 2) Formulating and designing a Strengthening Program Character education by: a) Developing in Madrasa Tradition, b) including in curricular activities and c) Developing in extracurricular activities such as scouts, tahfiz qur'an PMR and self-defense sports
