The effectiveness of the monopoly game in improving english speaking skills for young students

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to present a literature study on the effectiveness of monopoly in developing students' English speaking skills. The researcher examines three articles and theses related to the use of monopoly learning media in teaching speaking. The results of the literature study are used to identify the effectiveness of using monopoly as a medium of learning in speaking, especially for young students. The researcher found that playing the monopoly game could improve students' speaking ability in English compared to the general way of learning without using the media, this was evidenced by the results of the students' speaking test from the articles that had been researched. The results of this study are expected to be used as an information and reference material for teachers or researchers for further research. In short, the use of monopoly in improving English speaking skills to young students can be a new strategy that can be used by English teachers.
