The student’s understanding toward proffesion and competencies for the teacher in terms of teaching proffesion course

Abstract

The study aims at identifying the level of the understanding of Tadris IPA student in Physics concentration on the profession and competence of teachers. The level of understanding in seen from the teaching profession courses given to students as a provision to become a professional teacher. Teaching is a job or profession that not everyone can have it. Because the teacher is a profession that must be entered by taking a special education or training. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using a questionnaire method distributed through google forms. The sample of this research is Physics Concentration Tadris IPA students who have taken the Teaching Profession course in the Odd Semester 2021/2022, totaling 28 people. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. From the results of the study, it was found that 50% of students' level of understanding of the profession and teacher competence was in the category of very good understanding, 46% of students' understanding was in the good category, and 4% of students' understanding was in the fairly good category. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that teaching the teaching profession has succeeded in making Tadris IPA students in Physics Concentration understand the ins and outs of the teaching profession and competence.
